Losing My Spark in Motherhood

I’m Connee—founder, creative, and full-time dreamer behind Sculptedwax. I’m also a mum to two little girls, balancing the juggle of motherhood, part-time work, and building a business that fills my cup (and my home) with warmth.

Sculptedwax was born during one of the hardest, most transformative seasons of my life.

Right after having my first daughter—in the middle of the COVID lockdowns—I felt like I had lost myself. There were no visitors, no family, no village. Just me, a newborn, and the quiet weight of exhaustion, sleep deprivation, and isolation.

The version of me I used to know had disappeared.

Finding Calm in Candlelight

I didn’t know it then, but I was searching for something to ground me.

Candle-making started as therapy.

Melting wax. Blending scents. Moving slowly and intentionally. It gave me space to feel calm—and like myself again.

Every time I lit a candle, it felt like a whisper:

“You still have a light inside.”

And from that quiet reminder, Sculptedwax was born.

I didn’t want to just make candles that sat pretty on a shelf. I wanted to create an experience—something that told a story with every burn.
